About the Role
Vickerstock is working in partnership with a reputable manufacturing business in Dungannon, County Tyrone, to recruit a Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will help ensure an uninterrupted supply of goods, materials and services to support production and customer demand. You will also identify opportunities to improve purchasing costs, quality and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the purchasing of goods, materials and services required to support production.
- Liaise with suppliers to monitor delivery schedules and address potential supply interruptions.
- Work with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements and priorities.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and supply reliability.
- Monitor supplier performance and support improvements in quality and service.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and keep the Procurement Manager informed of supply issues.
What You'll Need
- Relevant buying or procurement experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills.
- A commercially minded approach to balancing cost, quality and delivery requirements.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail when managing purchasing activity.
- A proactive approach to resolving supply issues and working with colleagues to meet production needs.
