Turn conversations into customers and opportunities into long-term relationships
Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to recruit a commercially driven Business Development Executive for a growing and ambitious business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys sales, thrives on winning new business and gets satisfaction from turning a promising lead into a valued customer.
This is more than a prospecting role. You’ll take ownership of opportunities, build strong relationships and help convert interest into sales, while developing accounts with long-term potential. You’ll have the freedom to use your personality, commercial instincts and relationship-building skills to make an impact.
The Opportunity: As a Business Development Executive, you’ll play a key role in: • Identifying and winning new business through proactive prospecting, including telephone, email, LinkedIn and other relevant channels. • Building relationships with prospective and existing customers, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to grow accounts. • Taking ownership of leads, maintaining momentum through regular follow-up and converting genuine opportunities into customers. • Managing a healthy sales pipeline, progressing opportunities effectively and keeping accurate, up-to-date information within the CRM. • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to deliver a positive customer experience from initial enquiry through to order and ongoing account development. Your work will directly contribute to revenue growth by creating new opportunities, converting leads and developing strong customer relationships that have the potential to grow over time.
About You: We’re looking for someone who is passionate about sales and motivated by the challenge of winning new business. You’ll enjoy speaking with customers, opening doors and building the relationships that turn initial conversations into commercial opportunities. You’ll ideally bring: • A genuine passion for sales, business development and winning new customers. • Confidence developing relationships and managing accounts, with the ability to spot opportunities for further growth. • A proactive approach to converting leads, with the resilience and persistence to follow opportunities through rather than waiting for business to come to you. • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage customers by telephone, email, LinkedIn and other channels. • Good commercial awareness, organisation and attention to detail, with experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Above all, you’ll be someone who enjoys the process of selling. You’ll be curious about customers, motivated by results and comfortable taking ownership of your pipeline. You don’t need to match every point perfectly to apply. If you have relevant transferable experience and the drive to build a successful career in sales, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
The Benefits and Package: In return, you’ll enjoy: • £30,000 salary + a competitive commission structure. • Hybrid working, with the role predominantly based in Beverley and one day per week working from home. • Home-based working may also be considered, provided you can travel to Beverley approximately one to two times per month. • The opportunity to take ownership of new business opportunities and develop customer accounts within a growing organisation.
