About the Role
Carriera is seeking an Associate Director and Lead Fire Engineer on behalf of an independently owned property consultancy in North Lambeth, South East London. This contract role offers the opportunity to establish and lead a new Fire Engineering service line, building on the consultancy’s existing Building Safety & Compliance capability. You will take ownership of fire engineering services across a diverse project portfolio, combining technical leadership with the development of a client-focused department.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and develop the consultancy’s new Fire Engineering service line.
- Lead the delivery of fire engineering services across a diverse portfolio of projects.
- Provide senior technical oversight and guidance on fire engineering matters.
- Work alongside Building Safety & Compliance colleagues to deliver coordinated advice.
- Build strong client relationships and shape services around project requirements.
- Set the direction for the department, including its working practices and future development.
What You'll Need
- Substantial fire engineering experience, with the technical expertise to lead a service line.
- A strong understanding of relevant UK fire safety legislation, regulations and guidance.
- Experience leading projects and taking responsibility for the quality of technical delivery.
- The ability to develop a department and establish effective working practices.
- Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
- A collaborative approach to working with building safety and compliance specialists.
