About the Role
Building Careers UK Ltd is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an established and growing North West housebuilder. Based in Accrington, Lancashire, this permanent role offers the opportunity to support the commercial delivery of new-build residential developments. The business delivers high-quality family homes across the North West and wider Yorkshire market, with a focus on quality, design and attractive communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cost planning, budgeting and financial reporting for residential construction projects.
- Support the preparation of tender documents and the assessment of subcontractor quotations.
- Help monitor project expenditure and identify potential cost variations.
- Assist with subcontractor valuations, payments and final account preparation.
- Work closely with commercial and site teams to maintain accurate records and support cost-effective project delivery.
What You'll Need
- Relevant experience in an assistant quantity surveying or construction commercial role.
- A qualification in quantity surveying or a related discipline, or progress towards one.
- An understanding of construction costs, procurement and commercial processes, ideally within housebuilding.
- Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and confidence working with spreadsheets.
- Good communication and organisational skills, with a willingness to learn and work collaboratively.
