About the Role
Chapter One is looking for an Area Chef Manager for a permanent role based in Reading, Berkshire. As Impact Food Group’s independent schools brand, Chapter One is part of a wider group serving around one million students each day across more than 1,500 schools. You will support school catering teams across your area, helping to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals that support student wellbeing and enjoyment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day delivery of catering services across schools in your area.
- Lead and support kitchen teams to prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals.
- Maintain consistent standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Promote safe working practices, including food hygiene and allergen management.
- Help manage stock, food costs and waste to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Build effective working relationships with school contacts and catering colleagues.
What You'll Need
- Experience in professional catering, with the ability to lead and support kitchen teams.
- Strong practical cooking skills and a commitment to nutritious, high-quality food.
- A sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements.
