Working as an Arborist / Vegetation Operative offers a practical mix of vegetation clearance, tree surgery and ground-based activity, with safe working at the heart of each project. The Arborist / Vegetation Operative will use tools and machinery including chainsaws, chippers and strimmers, supporting climbing and aerial operations where appropriately qualified. As part of the Polegate team, the Arborist / Vegetation Operative will work independently and collaboratively to help deliver reliable, high-quality work. DUTIES Your duties as the Arborist / Vegetation Operative include: Tree Surgery and Vegetation Clearance: Carry out tree surgery, vegetation clearance and ground-based works Safe Working Practices: Follow site requirements and support safe working practices Tools and Machinery: Operate chainsaws, chippers, strimmers and other relevant equipment Climbing and Aerial Support: Assist with climbing and aerial operations where appropriately qualified Infrastructure Support: Contribute to works across highways, utilities and commercial projects CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Previous experience in arboriculture or de-vegetation CS30/31 Chainsaw experience Industry-relevant tickets Full UK driving licence Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Self-motivated with strong attention to detail Reliable and punctual DESIRABLE CS38/39 climbing and aerial rescue Utilities experience First Aid (Forestry) MEWP certification Chapter 8 signing, lighting and guarding CSCS card HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
