About the Role
Academics is recruiting an Alternative Provision/SEN Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision setting in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. You will support young people with special educational needs, helping them engage with learning in a nurturing environment. This is a term-time-only contract role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with an immediate start sought.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with learning activities, adapting your approach to their individual needs.
- Work alongside teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with young people to encourage confidence and participation.
- Help pupils develop independence, social skills and positive approaches to learning.
- Share observations about pupils’ progress and wellbeing with the teaching team.
- Follow the setting’s safeguarding and behaviour policies.

- Advertised pay of £93–£105 per day; the listing also gives a salary range of £24,180–£27,300. The applicable pay basis should be confirmed during the application process.
